Friday was an ending of sorts for Charlene Sanders of Edgewood. A judge sentenced the final defendant in the death of her husband to nearly 124 years in prison. A jury last week convicted Clabon Berniard of first-degree murder and five other felonies in the fatal home-invasion robbery in which Jim Sanders died.
Clabon Terrel Berniard is guilty – six times over.
It all comes down to whether Clabon Berniard was there.
The convicted triggerman in a deadly home-invasion robbery last year in Edgewood is expected to take the stand today against one of his fellow defendants.
The last trial in the fatal home-invasion robbery of Edgewood resident James Sanders might turn out to be the most contentious.
A Pierce County Superior Court judge this afternoon found a third defendant charged in a fatal Edgewood home-invasion robbery tied to Craigslist guilty as charged. Judge Rosanne Buckner rendered the verdicts against Joshua N. Reese, 22, shortly after lawyers delivered closing arguments in the case.
One of two remaining defendants charged in the murder of an Edgewood father doesn’t think a Pierce County jury would give him a fair trial.
