In the first Atlantic Ocean Fours Race, four University of Puget Sound graduates are trying to become the first Americans to row across the North Atlantic.

ON BOARD: Jordan Hanssen, Dylan LeValley, Greg Spooner and Brad Vickers should win the Ocean Fours Race this morning if high winds they encountered Wednesday night let up. The winds blew the team backward a mile Wednesday. The team is on pace to cross the finish line at 7:30 a.m.
The trans-Atlantic row and the team’s drive for history are not over, however. The team has another day of rowing to reach Falmouth, England. Once they reach land, they will become the first Americans to row the North Atlantic and the first crew ever to row from mainland United States to mainland United Kingdom.
They will be offered a tow when they cross the finish line, but will decline in order to make history.
They are on pace to touch land today or early Friday.
