Spring marks the return of farmers markets. Some have already opened and others will open soon. Here are South Sound market locations, hours and other vital details.

GIG HARBOR FARMERS MARKET, KIMBALL DRIVE LOCATION

MARKET DAY: Saturday

MARKET HOURS: 8:30 a.m.–2 p.m.

MARKET SEASON: April 3–Sept. 25

FEATURES: An open-air market that has live entertainment every week. Farm-fresh produce and nursery stock; cheese; floral designers; conventional and organic fruits and vegetables; fresh fish; organic beef; art vendors; chef demonstrations; kids activities, including pony rides and free face painting and balloons; free guitar, ukelele and banjo lessons from 8:30-10:30 a.m.

MARKET DAYS: Saturday and Sunday.

Market hours: 9 a.m.–2 p.m.

MARKET SEASON: Saturdays are from May 1–Oct. 30; Sundays are from May 2–Aug. 29
