Three funds opened to help the Linnik family

Memorial funds for Zina Linnik were opened Friday to help the 12-year-old Tacoma girl’s family.
“For the funeral and other expenses, they are going to need help,” said Jessica Thomas, who works with Zina’s father, Mikhail, at Vincent Apartment Washer Services, an appliance repair company in Tacoma.
The Linnik family has seven other children, and Mikhail Linnik has taken off work during his family’s ordeal, Thomas said.
The owner of the company, Keith Vincent, set up the Zina Linnik Memorial Fund. Donations can be made at any Key Bank branch.
The Tacoma Police Department opened an account for the Linnik family at Tapco Credit Union.

Carl Shrout of Shelton opened a third fund, at Bank of America.
Shrout, who owns an apartment cleaning business, said he doesn’t know the family, but said, “I have a granddaughter (Zina’s) age. I want to help.”
Donations can be made to the Linnik Memorial Fund at any Bank of America branch. The money can be withdrawn only by Zina’s father, Shrout said.
