NE Tacoma open space helps Puget Sound, too

DAVID RADFORD; Tacoma

Re: “To fix Puget Sound, fix the streams that feed it” (Insight, 4-13).

I cannot believe it took almost a year for a reliable source to state there is more than losing open space should the North Shore Golf Course be destroyed and overbuilt with 850-plus homes. We are talking about the future of our region – Puget Sound.

Local, county and state agencies are using outdated and substandard data to grant building permits. That is just plain wrong. I hope the Tacoma hearing examiner and City Council see this and realize the impact they will have on future generations to come should they decide to allow this sale to move forward and destroy the last green space of Northeast Tacoma.

Hurray for writer Jamie Glasgow and his insightfulness.
