Last updated: May 12th, 2008 11:45 PM (PDT)

Today, despite the popularity of cable television, video games and anything electronic, many kids still find time to read. Isaac Carbajal, a fourth grader at Leesville Road Elementary School in Raleigh, N.C., proves that young readers will always embrace a good book. "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" Series 1 and 2 by Jeff Kinney captures the attention of book lover Carbajal and readers nationwide.

Q: What do you like most about this book?
A: It's really funny and Gregory plays a lot of good jokes on people.

Q: How did you know this book existed?
A: When I first saw this book it was on the FunBrain site. So, I read some pages and it was pretty good. Then, a few days later, my friend brought the book to school. He said it was really good.

Q: Share a funny moment that you read in "Diary of a Wimpy Kid Rodrick Rules."
A: One funny part in this book ... Gregory was trying to make his little brother laugh. Gregory made one funny face that made Manny laugh so hard that it made apple juice come out of his nose. But their mom ruined the moment by saying that Gregory could have killed Manny. Then, when Manny heard that, he started crying and crying.

Q: Why do you think this series is so popular among your classmates or kids your age?
A: I think it's pretty popular because the kids I know who have this book really like it. But that’s only like 10 kids that I know who've also read the book.

Q: Do boys keep diaries?
A: I don't think boys keep diaries, because girls keep them. Like Gregory said, "It's also a journal," so boys keep journals.

Q: Why should kids read “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” Series 1 and "Diary of a Wimpy Kid Rodrick Rules" Series 2?
A: I think kids should read these books because it gives kids an idea of what middle school is like. But also, they don't have to read it, but after reading a couple of pages they will really like it.

Q: Jeff Kinney, the author, also illustrated the book. What do you think of the illustrations?
A: I think the illustrations are pretty cool.

Q: Have you logged onto a computer and viewed the online comic at FunBrain.com?
A: Yes, I have. But I found the comic after I finished a game on the FunBrain site. Then, the cover popped up, so I clicked on it and read some of the comic.

Q: A five-book series is in the works. Are you looking forward to the new releases in the "Diary of A Wimpy Kid" series?
A: Yes, I'm looking forward to the new releases and I hope they will be even better.
