A former Federal Way elementary music teacher has pleaded not guilty to molesting a young relative in an incident about five years ago.
Scott Riley, 53, entered a not guilty plea Monday to first-degree child molestation.
King County Superior Court Judge Brian Gain released Riley on his own recognizance.
The relative, now 10, told authorities in July that she was 4 or 5 years old at the time of the encounter.
The charge arose after Riley pleaded guilty in December to assaulting an 11-year-old girl in his music room at Twin Lakes Elementary School. Riley avoided jail time and having to register as a sex offender by admitting to fourth-degree assault in a plea agreement. He also was required to undergo a sexual deviancy evaluation and treatment.
In April, Riley disclosed to his sexual deviancy treatment provider that he touched the female relative sexually, documents state.
His next court date is Sept. 25.
