BONNEY LAKE: Mountain View Middle School hosts science fair Saturday

The Sumner-Bonney Lake Education Foundation and the Pacific Science Center are providing free interactive science activities and a special science show at Sumner schools’ K-8 District Science Fair on Saturday.

The fair will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mountain View Middle School, 10920 199th Ave. Court E., Bonney Lake, according to a Sumner School District news release.

Visitors can touch a plasma ball, swing a pendulum, and ride on a gyroscope. At noon, there’ll be a “Super Cool Science Show” featuring volunteer scientists exploring the scientific method and states of matter using liquid nitrogen.

All students must be accompanied by an adult.

On Feb. 21, high school students will exhibit projects at the 9-12 District Science Falr and Art Show at Sumner High School, 1707 Main St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

For the first time at the high school science fair, the middle school and high school Fine Arts departments will host an art show, with nearly 150 students competing for ribbons, with support from the City of Sumner Arts Commission.
