AGE: Fogies vs. whippersnappers

Re: “Largest generation gap since 1960s, study says” (TNT, 6-29).

Some things we read in a newspaper are really new and inform us about a situation that is truly amazing. However, the article revealing that oldsters view things differently than youngsters is, ahem, not all that startling.

When I was 16, I intuitively knew that “fogy” automatically followed the word “old,” and therefore their thinking was outdated or old-fashioned. But as the years passed, I wised up and adjusted, becoming aware that “young” could very easily be followed up with “whippersnapper” or “brain dead,” etc.

Why can’t we seniors just keep the young body but include an adult brain to guide it?
