TACOMA: Sidewalks needed more than bike lanes

I was heading towards downtown on North 21st Street when I was got a surprise: The traffic lanes had been changed to include what I’m assuming will be bike lanes since they are too small to drive a car in.

Whose idea was this, and when were they going to ask the public about it? I don’t recall any notice having been given.

North 21st Street gets completely resurfaced and relined just so some yuppies can have a place to ride their bikes? In the area just west of here on North 21st there are no sidewalks to walk safely away from traffic.

We make bike lanes before we make places to walk? Priorities, Tacoma; it’s all about priorities.
