  Andrew Olson, 19, who was in a crash on Idaho 55 early Friday morning, is listed in stable condition at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said.

  Idaho State Police say Olson was traveling north on the highway at about 5 a.m. when the crash occurred. About 2 miles north of Marsing, Olson veered into the emergency lane and slammed into the back of a parked semi with two flatbed trailers.

  Alfred Hansen, 76, Ellensburg, Wash., was in the semi truck. Olson was transported by Canyon County Paramedics to the hospital in Boise.

  After enduring six months of construction, drivers on Idaho 16 can finally sail across a new bridge north of Firebird Raceway.

  The 52-year-old, two-lane bridge had reached its functional end, so the Idaho Transportation Department decided to replace it with a wider, three-lane bridge.

  “With work substantially complete and significant traffic impacts a thing of the past, the 65 mph speed limit has been restored,” said ITD's Merrill Sharp, project construction manager.

  BELLINGHAM - Bus service has returned to State Street hill after the city fixed changes to an intersection that made bus drivers feel unsafe.

  Whatcom Transportation Authority halted service to four stops on North State Street between Forest and Boulevard earlier this month, after the city changed the intersection of North State and Forest to make a connecting bike lane.

  The change forced cars and buses turning from North State up the hill on Forest to immediately merge into traffic coming around the corner on Boulevard. The city has updated those changes to increase safety, restriping the road and adding a curb so turning cars have their own lane going up the hill.
