Kent: Teachers vote to go out on strike

The Seattle Times

Kent School District teachers have voted to go on strike. During a meeting Wednesday night, more than 86 percent of the teachers present voted to hit the picket lines.

More than 1,500 of the district’s 1,700 teachers reportedly voted.

Teachers will stay home today rather than come to school to prepare for classes, which are supposed to start Monday. Bargaining teams plan to resume talks today.
