In reading about the recent decision by Russell Investments to move to Seattle, a part of me sees it as yet another sellout in the name of ego and status.
As a Tacoma native who has lived on both ends of the Sound, all I have to say is, enjoy the commute. When you spend more time on the highway and less time with family, when you abandon your communities for the potential for networking, can that replace longtime friends and neighbors?
Some things cannot be measured in terms of money. That is something I would not expect Russell officials to understand, judging by their decision.
