Mariners' Suzuki ejected for first time in his career
Similar Stories
Seattle Mariners outfielder Ichiro Suzuki was ejected from Saturday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays for the first time in his professional career.
In the fifth inning, Suzuki was called out looking at strike three. He then used his bat to sketch a line in the dirt on the outer edge of the plate, trying to show that David Purcey's pitch was outside.
Home plate umpire Brian Runge immediately ejected Suzuki, who argued with the umpire before being escorted off the field by manager Don Wakamatsu.
It was the first ejection ever for Suzuki, including his playing time in Japan, and the first of the season for Seattle.
