Federal Way Public Schools will expand its beginning teacher assistance program this year, with a grant from Washington state.

The school district’s application for the Beginning Education Support Team (BEST) grant was one of just five selected from a field of 185 school districts in the state.

Federal Way will provide increased mentor support, classes, learning communities and professional certification preparation for novice teachers during their first three years.
