IMMIGRATION: Controversy over costume is just silly

Re: “Rights group offended by Target’s ‘alien’ costume” (TNT, 10-17).

Every year there seems to be some controversy over the holidays. This year I just did not expect it to go so close to home. A costume company came up with an illegal alien costume, and immigrant rights groups have taken offense.

My issue is that I am a legal alien, and am close to becoming a legal immigrant. I am proud of this. Every time an issue comes up over illegal immigration they always slap a title on it saying “immigrants upset” or some such nonsense and never make a difference between legals and illegals.

Seriously, right now I think illegal aliens have more rights than I do. And I do not support illegal immigration in any way.

I looked at the costume in question and first thought about the movie, “Men in Black.” I think it would be hilarious to wear it both for Halloween and to sci-fi conventions. Tacoma
