Charles Krauthammer wants President Obama to take responsibility for the war in Afghanistan (column, 10-30).
Thank God we have a president who is finally doing just that.
If only President Bush and the conservative cheerleaders who praised his decisions on Afghanistan had taken responsibility for that war and our troops, we would not have abandoned our military’s original mission there when Bush decided to use the “war on terror” as a convenient excuse to invade and occupy Iraq.
The president and policies Krauthammer supported started the two nightmarish fires (Afghanistan and Iraq) still burning on the other side of the globe. While he continues to defend the arsonist, most of America supports the firefighter and his efforts to clean up the mess.
