Should Fox News be treated differently? Fox has every right to be critical of this administration, but it does a few things that no other networks do.
First, it actively helped organize and promote demonstrations against the Obama administration, such as the TEA party protests and 9/12 rallies. It helped people find protest sites, advertised the rallies and promised coverage. Many promotions took place during the normal news broadcasts.
Also, look who runs Fox News: Roger Ailes, who was a political consultant for many Republican candidates. His first political job was as an adviser for the Nixon campaign in 1968. Later he was a consultant to Ronald Reagan in 1984. In 1988, Ailes (with Lee Atwater) guided George H.W. Bush to victory as president.
Look who Ailes hires is addition to Fox’s regular conservative opinion people: Karl Rove – George W. Bush’s political adviser; Mike Huckabee, former GOP presidential candidate; and so on. Clearly Fox is different.
