THE NEWS TRIBUNE

Vickie Lackman has been appointed acting president of Bates Technical College in Tacoma. She will serve as the college’s president until the board appoints an interim president later this year.

David Borofsky, Bates’ former president, announced his resignation in July and left the college Oct. 22 to accept a position in Colorado.

Lackman has served as Bates’ vice president of human resources for the past five years.

A resident of Gig Harbor, Lackman holds a bachelor of fine arts from Pacific Lutheran University. She also has a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in organizational development.
