UPLACE: Families might as well live elsewhere

What are the two main things that young families look at when deciding what community to live in? Schools and parks/recreation.

University Place is squandering these two assets. Although the schools are good, the district has allowed more than 900 out-of-district kids into our school system. And now the possibility of losing our youth programs.

Families have no incentive to move to University Place. They can live in Fircrest, Tacoma or Lakewood and enjoy our schools, while enjoying youth programs in their own towns.
