PIERCE COUNTY: Why so late on election results?

BUNNEE BUTTERFIELD; Lakewood

At 9 p.m. on election night, every county has reported some results except Pierce and Yakima.

Perhaps there is some reasonable explanation, but it seems odd to me that very populous counties, such as King and Snohomish, manage to produce results in an hour and Pierce, once again, lags behind. Doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in the county government’s ability to manage.
