FORT HOOD: Massacre shows need for vigilance

WENDY LAKE; Graham

As the Fort Hood murders clearly show, we can’t afford to be politically correct when it comes to our military personnel in a post-9/11 world.

The coward who allegedly committed these despicable attacks had himself raised many red flags, practically flapping them in the faces of his superiors. He had claimed harassment by his comrades and discrimination because of his Muslim faith. He made it clear he did not intend to be deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan. He even hired a military attorney.

Most of the men and women in our military are brave heroes who honor their oath to protect and defend the Constitution against enemies both foreign and domestic, in times of war and peace.

Any member of the military who openly denounces wars and refuses deployment needs to be arrested, sent to Fort Leavenworth and put on trial for treason.
