FORT HOOD: At least suspect is alive to face music

I find myself so very angry reading the story about the shooting at Fort Hood, Texas. Angrier than I was yesterday when I first heard the story on the evening news.

I find myself so very angry reading the story about the shooting at Fort Hood, Texas. Angrier than I was yesterday when I first heard the story on the evening news.

There is no doubt in my mind that Major Hasan would have turned the gun on himself once he had accomplished what he allegedly set out to do. I say this because we have seen it all too often in these types of massacres. That, and the details of his phone message left for a friend, reportedly saying goodbye, tell me without a shred of doubt that this was his intention.

Hasan is one of several notable cowards who inflict pain, suffering and death upon many, then end their own miserable lives, thus avoiding having to face up to what they have done when the smoke clears. But, thanks to Sgt. Kimberly Munley, that is not the case this time. Hoorah for her and kudos for her quick thinking and action. It is because of her that this time we have our coward in custody, and he will be forced to face the music.
