Re: “Obama suffers by comparison” (letter, 11-19).
The writer forgot to put in a smiley face so we would know he was being humorous. Wait – he wasn’t kidding?
• “Palin is honest”: Google “Sarah Palin lies” and you get millions of hits. Check Web sites like Politifact.com and you can search all of Palin’s misstatements and inaccuracies or just the most recent ones from her new book.
• “She wouldn’t bow to foreign leaders”: Richard Nixon bowed to foreign leaders (more than once) and so did Dwight Eisenhower. Apparently bowing to a foreign leader is only allowed if you are a Republican president.
• “She will not be soft on terrorists”: I suppose this is because she has such extensive foreign policy experience from her time as governor of Alaska, at least until she bailed out mid-term.
• “She will not have her hand in our pockets”: Right, like she didn’t have her hand in rape victims’ pockets when as mayor of Wasilla she required that they pay for the rape-testing kit.
• “She will make America energy independent”: “Drill, baby, drill” is not a viable plan for energy independence.
The writer described himself as an “average guy” who didn’t think Palin would betray anyone. I’m an “average gal” who hopes he and like-minded friends nominate her to run in 2012 – with Glenn Beck as a running mate. That’s a dream team for a continued conservative minority in governance.
