Out of the kitchen: Let someone else prepare turkey dinner this year
Go Eat: No-hassle Thanksgiving meals

It’s an enormous and sometimes painful task to prepare a multi-course meal for Thanksgiving, so it’s completely understandable why some people prefer to dine out on the holiday.

We contacted more than 40 restaurants to find those offering Thanksgiving dinners Nov. 26. So far, a dozen have told us about their dinners, and we’ll continue to update and add restaurants as we learn of them, at the TNT Diner blog.

Thanksgiving dinners will be served at these restaurants Thanksgiving Day.

PACIFIC GRILL

Where: 1502 Pacific Ave., Tacoma

Time: 2-7 p.m. Make reservations.

Price: $34.95 adults; $15.95 children 12 and younger. It’s a fixed price for a fixed menu, called prix-fixe.

Menu: Appetizers include a relish tray and cream of celery soup or holiday beet salad. Entrees are a beef brisket pot roast, petrale sole, a Thanksgiving dinner plate or Thanksgiving vegetable Wellington. Dessert is pumpkin mousse, olive oil crme brlée, warm apple & pear crisp or chocolate cake.

BABBLIN’ BABS BISTRO

Where: 2724 N. Proctor St., Tacoma

Time: 11 a.m.-4 p.m, Thanksgiving day. Reservations required.

Price: $55 per person (plus tax, gratuity)

Menu: Babblin’ Babs will have a turkey-free menu. A five-course meal comes with your choice of one main entrée. Entrees include Babs Land & Sea Combo (sirloin with crab), spicy blackberry glazed duck breast, champagne gratin aux fruits de mer.

NATIONAL PARK INN, MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK

Time: Noon-7 p.m. A holiday buffet will be served. Reservations suggested.

Price: $19.95 for adults; $10.95 for children (10 and younger)

Menu: Entrees are herb-roasted turkey with cranberry pine nut stuffing and traditional sage dressing, or baron of beef. Vegetables include wild mushrooms and green beans, fresh seasonal vegetables, mashed potatoes, brown sugar-glazed sweet potatoes with marshmallows. There will be a choice of soup or salad. Desserts will be peach bread pudding, pumpkin pie or blackberry cobbler.

KNAPP’S

Where: 2707 N. Proctor St., Tacoma

Time: Noon-6 p.m. A prix-fixe menu will be served. Reservations suggested, walk-ins welcome and to go.

Price: $17.99 for adults; $7.95 for children 12 and younger

Menu: New this year will be the rotisserie-cooked fresh whole turkey and prime rib. Diners also can choose honey-baked ham. The menu also includes mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, fresh mixed vegetables. Diners will have a choice of soup or salad. Dessert will be traditional pumpkin pie.

C.I. SHENANIGANS

Where: 3017 Ruston Way, Tacoma

Time: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Buffet served. Reservations required.

Price: $27.99 adults; $23.99 seniors; $12.99 children, plus tax and gratuity.

Menu: Traditional Thanksgiving and seafood buffet, including turkey, roast beef, ham, crab legs, oysters, clams, mussels, salmon, salads, 20 kinds of desserts.

LOBSTER SHOP AT DASH POINT

Where: 6912 Soundview Drive N.E., Tacoma

Time: 1:30-6 p.m. Reservations required.

Price: Most entrees, not including lobster, are $23 to $29; plus tax and gratuity. Salads, side dishes, desserts are separate.

Menu: Menu favorites, including turkey dinner, Australian rock lobster, King crab legs, salmon. Desserts include pumpkin pie and Olympic Mountain Ice Creamery specialty flavors such as peppermint candy, spiced pear sorbet, molasses gingerbread.

LOBSTER SHOP AT COMMENCEMENT BAY

Where: 4015 Ruston Way, Tacoma

Time: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Reservations recommended.

Price: $29.95 adults; $24.95 seniors; $15.95 children 6 to 12; 5 and under are free. Plus tax and gratuity.

Menu: Buffet including turkey, ham, prime rib, cedar plank salmon, potato-crusted cod, oven-baked chicken dijon, smoked salmon, seafood cakes, prawns, seven types of salad, candied yams, mashed potatoes and gravy, sage stuffing, rice pilaf, seasonal vegetables, glazed carrots, cranberry relish, butterflake rolls, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, apple crisp with vanilla ice cream, crme brulee and chocolate mousse.

STANLEY & SEAFORT’S

Where: 115 E. 34th St., Tacoma

Time: Noon-8 p.m. Reservations recommended, very few spaces left.

Price: The meal is a sit-down service, and entrees range from $18-$39.

Menu: Prime rib ($32), filet mignon ($39), Kobe meatloaf wrapped in pepper bacon ($18). For a traditional Thanksgiving meal, a free-range turkey dinner will be served with apple-sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet glazed vegetables, fresh cranberry relish and housemade turkey gravy ($24).

GATEWAY COTTAGE

Where: 124 146th St. S., Tacoma

Time: Noon-7 p.m. Reservations recommended.

Price: The meal is a sit-down service with three meal choices. Prices are $22.95-$24.95.

Menu: A sit-down dinner with a fixed menu. Diners can select from three meals, a turkey dinner ($22.95), ham dinner ($22.95) or a prime rib dinner ($24.95). Dinners come with sides. Desserts are extra.

Time: Noon to 8 p.m. Reservations not required.

Price: Turkey dinner and trimmings plate: $15.99 for adults; $6.99 children 12 and younger, plus tax.
