Emerald Downs will host a catered dinner and benefit auction Feb. 13 to raise money for the children left behind after a domestic violence shooting involving a Pierce County sheriff’s deputy.
Deputy Kent Mundell died from the wounds he suffered in the exchange Dec. 21 at a home near Eatonville. The gunman, David Crable, was killed at the scene.
The event, Heros for Heros, will be from 6-11 p.m. at the Auburn horse racing track. Tickets are $20.
The event will raise money for Mundell’s two children and Crable’s daughter, who was credited with helping law enforcement officers that night.
