Two shot on Tacoma's East Side; gunman sought

Tacoma police were searching Sunday night for the assailant in a double shooting on the East Side.

The shooting happened around 10:10 p.m. at the intersection of 56th Street South and Portland Avenue. One victim was transported to Tacoma General Hospital; the condition of the other person was unknown as of late Sunday.

The gunman fled north on Portland Avenue in a white Chrysler minivan. He was described as wearing a white hooded sweat shirt.
