The Tahoma Audubon Society is accepting entries for its annual bird-drawing contest.
The 11th annual contest is open to Pierce County students in grades two through seven.
Participants must draw or paint one of the following birds in its native habitat: red-necked grebe, American kestrel or Clark’s nutcracker.
The work, no larger than 11 inches by 14 inches, must be submitted by May 17 to Tahoma Audubon, Adriana Hess Audubon Center, 2917 Morrison Road W., University Place, WA 98466.
The winners will be notified by June 1, and the prizes will be awarded at the membership meeting of Tahoma Audubon Society at the Tacoma Nature Center on June 11 at 7 p.m. The winners also will be recognized in the July issue of Tahoma Audubon Society’s newsletter, The Towhee.
