New bar The Office on Pacific Ave to offer burgers

A new bar and grill called The Office is slated to open in August at 813 Pacific Ave., Tacoma.
The location formerly housed Merende, an Italian eatery that closed in January.
The Office is the project of business partners Matthew Henderson and Travis Scheff. This is the first restaurant for Scheff, who grew up in a restaurant family in North Dakota, and the second for Henderson, who owns a sub shop in West Seattle.
The menu still is in the works, but gourmet burgers are planned, including a signature burger called The Office.
Scheff described the scene as casual – a sports bar with a “swanky vibe.”
