Register for beach cleanup

THE NEWS TRIBUNE

Operation Shore Patrol, led by the Pacific Northwest Four Wheel Drive Association, is looking for volunteers to clean southwest Washington beaches Sept. 18-19.

Participants can register at any of three locations or by calling the area coordinator. Volunteers are asked to call after 6 p.m. weekdays or on weekends through Sept. 10. Areas and coordinators are:

 • Ocean City State Park, 148 Star Route 115, Ocean Shores; Angela Holm at 206-617-9478

 • Twin Harbors State Park, 420 state Route 105 S., Grayland; Bob and Barb Woolery at 360-893-8447

 • Cape Disappointment State Park, 244 Robert Gray Drive, Ilwaco; Linda Jessen at 360-560-4598

Volunteers should wear gloves, proper clothing and water-resistant shoes. Do not touch medical waste, dead animals, hazardous materials or sharp objects. If you are uncertain about an item, report it to event staff. Be careful of unstable banks, steep slopes or slippery surfaces.
