Luke Filmer’s Blackwater Fish Replicas studio is generally open by appointment only. But he will open his art studio to the public for the first time during Gig Harbor’s annual Open Studio Tour on Sept. 18-19.
During the two-day event, Filmer’s studio will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., offering art enthusiasts and anglers a chance to see the process that goes into constructing and painting a fiberglass fish replica sculpture from photographs and measurements of trophy fish.
