Large DSHS grant awarded to Orting School District

The Orting School District has been awarded a grant from the state Department of Social and Health Services that will be used to build a healthier environment for youth.

The school district is scheduled to receive $80,600 per year, beginning this July, to help fund initiatives that prevent substance abuse, reduce juvenile crime and improve academic performance.
