An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0 struck Shoreline Tuesday evening, and the shaking was felt as far away as North Bend.
The earthquake, which occurred about 7 p.m., was reported by 50 people in 31 ZIP codes, said Bill Steele, coordinator of the University of Washington Seismology Laboratory. He said the quake, which caused no damage, was deep, nearly 20 miles below the surface.
He said the quake was reported by people as far south as Spanaway and north into Snohomish County. When you get a magnitude 3, youre sure someone felt it, Steele said, who described it as gentle shaking.
