The Tacoma School Board has announced a location for its interview with Deputy Superintendent Carla Santorno, who is being considered as a possible replacement for retiring Superintendent Art Jarvis.
Board members said Thursday that Santorno was the only internal applicant for the job. Jarvis plans to retire after the 2011-2012 school year.
The board’s public interview with Santorno is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Sept. 7 in the Central Administration Building, 601 S. Eighth St., fourth-floor boardroom.
Members of the public will have an opportunity to submit in advance questions that they would like the board to ask Santorno. A link will be available on the Tacoma Public Schools website at www.tacomaschools.org until Sept. 7.
Following the Sept. 7 interview, the board will listen to comments and answer questions before voting at the Sept. 8 board meeting on whether to hire Santorno as the next superintendent or to conduct a local or national search.
