The Sumner School District has announced special hours for the first day of school, Sept. 7.
Elementary schools will operate on the Wednesday late start time and school day schedule for students grades one to five with no kindergarten classes. The first day of school for full-time kindergarten is Sept. 9. The first day of blue kindergarten is Sept. 9, and the first day of red kindergarten is Sept. 12. Parents should check with individual schools.
Middle school sixth-graders’ and high school ninth-graders’ start time is 7:25 a.m., and students will be picked up according to regular weekday bus schedule for a full school day schedule. Seventh-, eighth-, 10th- and 12th-graders will begin school at 12:25 p.m.; bus transportation will be five hours later than the regular weekday bus schedule. School lunch will not be served to students in grades seven and eight.
High school ninth-graders’ start time is 7:25 a.m., and students will be picked up according to regular weekday bus schedule for full school-day schedule. Students in grades 10-12 will begin school at 12:25 p.m.; bus transportation will be five hours later than the regular weekday schedule. School lunch will not be served to students in grades 10-12.
All schools will have regular afternoon dismissal times and bus schedules. For more details contact individual schools.
