South King firefighters return with World Trade Center artifact today

South King Fire & Rescue is planning a ceremony today to welcome a piece of the World Trade Center, which was devastated nearly 10 years ago in terrorist attacks on the East Coast.

South King Fire & Rescue is planning a ceremony today to welcome a piece of the World Trade Center, which was devastated nearly 10 years ago in terrorist attacks on the East Coast.

The agency was recently awarded an artifact from the towers. South King fire Lt. Scott Mahlen and firefighter Sven Schievink left Aug. 10 on a cross-country trip to pick up the piece and bring it back to Federal Way.
