Metro Parks Tacoma is offering kayakers a chance to spend a morning paddling on the Thea Foss Waterway, after which participants can visit the Tacoma Craft Beer Festival.
The easy paddle trip will kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Thea Foss boat launch and provides participants with a view of the city skyline while kayaking past the Glass Museum and the marinas.
Near the end of the waterway, the Port of Tacoma and tideflats come into view, along with Mount Rainier on a clear day.
Afterward, participants can attend the festival to enjoy local craft beer, food and entertainment.
The trip price includes admission into the festival and is for ages 21 and older. Beginners are welcome.
Registration is required by calling 253-594-7847 or go to metroparkstacoma.org/outdoor. The cost is $50 for those in need of a kayak and $30 for participants who bring their own.
