Franciscan Medical Group of Tacoma has recently added to its staff.

Dr. Lyle Calcamuggio, an obstetric and gynecology physician, provides women’s health care for adolescent to adult patients. He specializes in advanced laparoscopic surgery, endometriosis, incontinence and menopause. Calcamuggio also focuses on pelvic issues, such as pelvic pain, prolapse and surgery. He received his medical degree and completed his residency at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.

Dr. Karen Robinson, also an obstetric and gynecology physician, provides general obstetric and gynecological care to advanced laparoscopic surgery and pelvic issues. She also specializes in treating menopause, menorrhagia and other menstrual disorders. Robinson earned her medical degree at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and completed her residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

Dr. Sue Dillon will provide urgent medical care at Franciscan Prompt Care - Canyon Road in Puyallup. She earned her medical degree from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Chicago and completed her residency at HealthOne Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency in Denver.

Dr. YuJin Kim will provide health care for patients of all ages at The Lakewood Clinic in Lakewood. She earned her medical degree from Des Moines University, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa, and completed a residency at Michigan State University, Bay Regional Medical Center, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bay City, Mich.

The Greater Tacoma Community Foundation recently announced new members to its board of directors. The Greater Tacoma Community Foundation Board is responsible for managing the Community Foundation’s assets, developing new funds, and making grants to the organizations.

Maro Imirzian, vice president of finance at Catchlight Energy LLC, is joining for a three-year term. She joined Catchlight Energy, a Chevron I Weyerhaeuser joint venture, after serving in manufacturing and finance roles at Weyerhaeuser Co. Imirzian earned a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and an MBA from Cornell University.

Sheri Tonn, vice president of finance and operations at Pacific Lutheran University, was elected to serve a three-year term. She joined PLU in 1979 as an assistant professor of chemistry and has served in several administrative positions, including dean of natural sciences and dean of information resources. Tonn holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Oregon State University and a doctorate in chemistry from Northwestern University.

Cindy Thompson, former president of Mountain View Funeral Home, Memorial Park and Crematory, also joins the board. She has more than 30 years of business experience. After working in health care for almost 10 years in Portland, Thompson returned to Pierce County and started working in her family’s company, Mountain View Funeral Home, Memorial Park and Crematory, until her retirement in 2009. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire and received her MBA from Pacific Lutheran University.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITION

MultiCare Health System’s video production team received three prestigious awards for videos shot and produced for internal audiences at MultiCare. Chris Ceresa, digital media specialist, and Susan Messier, director of marketing and media development, received two awards from the Videographer Awards competition that recognizes outstanding achievement in video production. Their work received The Award of Excellence for Creativity/Use of Graphics/Design and The Award of Excellence for Two-Person Video Production. Additionally, the Annual Telly Awards honored another video by Ceresa with the Bronze Telly Award, the second-highest honor, in the Employee Communications category.

The Videographer Awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. There were about 1,800 entries from throughout the United States and several other countries in the 2011 competition.
