Metro Parks Tacoma just put out this press release on daycare options:
Metro Parks will provide the following services for the duration of official closure of Tacoma schools: 1) Free drop-in activities for Kids in Community Centers
FREE DROP-IN ACTIVITIES at Community Centers 9am 5pm Kids are invited to drop in and burn off some energy while teachers are on strike. Three Metro Parks Community Centers will temporarily increase staffing levels to offer unstructured recreation activities for school kids. These services are offered on a free, drop-in basis, and will resemble our Summer Playground Program, said Recreation Manager Jose Gorospe. This service should not be considered a substitute for traditional childcare, as children are able to come and go at will, so parents should view this as a resource for kids to stay active during the time when they would typically be in school. · The Center at Norpoint 4818 Nassau Ave. NE
