Last updated: September 16th, 2011 12:23 AM (PDT)

The Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture will hold its 13th annual Bug Blast from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.

Part of this year’s event will be puppet show performances of “The Secret Life of Bugs” by Spyglass Theater (spyglass theater.com/bugs.htm).

Visitors will get a glimpse into a world of dragonflies, dung beetles and metamorphosis through black-light puppetry.

Anansi the Spider will lead viewers through the secrets of orb weaving and prey-stalking with shows throughout the day.

Performances are by reservation only and are free with admission to the museum.

Reserve your space at burkemuseum.org/events/browse/bug_blast. Performance times are 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., and 1 and 2 p.m.

The museum is on the University of Washington campus, at the corner of Northeast 45th Street and 17th Avenue Northeast in Seattle.
