Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee and Detroit Lions kicker Jason Hanson have been chosen the NFC's top players for the month of September.
Rodgers grabbed the offensive award as he led the Packers to a 3-0 record, completing 74-of-103 passes for 917 yards, eight touchdowns and one interception. He led the NFL in completion percentage (71.8 percent) and touchdown-to-interception ratio to earn his third career monthly award.
Lee nabbed the defensive honors by leading his team in tackles in each of its first three games. He also has two interceptions and two fumble recoveries for the NFC's top-ranked defense. It is the second-year player's first career monthly award.
Hanson rounded out the monthly winners by taking home the special teams award. The 20-year veteran became the seventh player in NFL history to reach 1,900 career points by converting each of his eight field goal and 11 point after attempts. In Week 2 against Kansas City, Hanson set an NFL record by playing his 297th game for the Lions, the most by a player for one team. It is his fifth career monthly award.
