Washington connections: No Bruins graduated from Washington high schools, but Neuheisel coached the Washington Huskies from 1999-2002. Two of Neuheisel’s assistants at Washington, Tim Hundley and Wayne Moses (a former Huskies cornerback), coach UCLA’s secondary and running backs, respectively.
Did you know: Neuheisel has never lost to WSU in eight meetings as coach at Colorado, Washington and UCLA.
Scouting report: Neuheisel’s job status is shaky after losing nine of 12 games since the Bruins rallied from a 28-20 deficit in the third quarter to beat WSU, 42-28, last October. The Bruins have given up 38 or more points in three games this season, and WSU ranks 10th nationally scoring 44.5 points per game. UCLA’s top two running backs, Johnathan Franklin and Derrick Coleman, combined for 401 yards and four touchdowns rushing against WSU last year. The Bruins are favored by 3 1/2 points.
