Both sides ante up as I-1183 contributions top $15 million

Costco has made its largest contribution yet to its liquor privatization initiative. Last week's $1.7 million donation brings the total raised by the Yes on 1183 campaign to nearly $8.2 million.

Costco has made its largest contribution yet to its liquor privatization initiative. Last week's $1.7 million donation brings the total raised by the Yes on 1183 campaign to nearly $8.2 million.

The alcohol distributors who oppose Initiative 1183 have been raising their own vast sums. The National Beer Wholesalers Association and the Washington Beer and Wine Wholesalers Association kicked in another $1 million combined last week, bringing the total raised in opposition to $7.4 million.
