Cell phones behind the wheel a problem in King County

More than 400 drivers in King County were caught talking on their cell phones or texting while driving last month, the Washington State Patrol said today.

More than 400 drivers in King County were caught talking on their cell phones or texting while driving last month, the Washington State Patrol said today.

About half were issued a $124 ticket for illegal cell phone use.

Troopers pulled over 370 drivers who were talking on their phones behind the wheel and 43 for texting while driving, trooper Julie Startup said.
