Four people were injured in Federal Way early Sunday morning after a suspected impaired driver ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The collision occurred about 1:30 a.m. at the southbound Interstate 5 off-ramp and 320th Street.
A 22-year-old California man driving a 1999 Honda Civic exited I-5, ran a red light and hit a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria that was traveling east on 320th Street, trooper Julie Startup said.
Drugs and/or alcohol are believed to have played a role in the crash. Troopers were recommending vehicular assault charges against the Honda’s driver.
He and the driver of the Ford, a 42-year-old Puyallup man, were taken to St. Francis Hospital. An 18-year-old passenger of the Honda was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, and a 22-year-old passenger of the Ford was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
