A Pierce County Superior Court judge this afternoon ruled Tacoma City Council candidate Robert Jesse Hill mentally competent to stand trial on a felony charge of intimidating a judge.
Judge Edmund Murphy signed the order after reviewing reports from officials at Western State Hospital that stated Hill, 41, understands the legal proceedings against him and is competent to assist in his own defense.
