Question: Any idea when the mess at Pacific Avenue and South Tacoma Way will be completed? I think the pyramids were completed in less time. – Rick Bethard, Tacoma
Answer: There’s still lots left to do on Sound Transit’s project to put a new commuter rail bridge over Pacific Avenue.
The excavation on Pacific is down to the final grade, and crews are nearly finished paving between South 26th and South 27th streets.
They’re now pouring concrete piers that will support the new bridge.
Best estimate for Pacific reopening?
Sound Transit says “the late March to early April time frame.”
The full project won’t be complete until late 2012.
