Alaska adding new flights to Honolulu
SeaTac’s Alaska Airlines, which three years ago had no flights to Hawaii, on Tuesday announced new daily service from Oakland and San Jose in the San Francisco Bay Area to Honolulu.
When those new flights begin on April 10, Alaska will have nine daily flights to Hawaii from Northern California airports, including Sacramento. The new flights will give the airline a total of 24 daily flights to the 50th state from the mainland.
Alaska flies nonstop from Sea-Tac, Portland, San Diego, Bellingham, Anchorage and the three Bay Area cities to the islands.
The airline already flies from Oakland and San Jose to three other Hawaiian destinations: Kona on Hawaii, Lihue on Maui and Kahului on Kauai. The airline is introducing the new service with $149 fares each way for tickets purchased by Friday for travel between April 10 and June 9 next year.
