A Kent woman was seriously injured Friday night after she reportedly lay in the road following an argument with her boyfriend. She later was run over by a Chevy Corvette southbound on Nisqually Cut Off Road at Conine Avenue, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The woman was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital with multiple broken bones and head trauma, and her boyfriend later was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into the Thurston County Jail.
According to the State Patrol:
About 8:41 p.m., Georgia Apodaca, 47, of Kent, and John P. Hall, 49, of Tacoma, were driving in the area of Nisqually Cut Off Road and Conine Avenue.
Apodaca and Hall, both of whom were intoxicated, got into an argument and Apodaca got out of the car and laid down in the road. Hall drove off.
Apodaca, wearing dark clothes, was run over. The Corvettes driver was not injured. Hall returned to the scene and was arrested.
