What is it: Join Rick Steves and his staff for a full-day of travel classes. They will give 10 lectures packed with the latest European travel tips, insights and discoveries. These sessions would be good for people planning a trip to Europe in 2012.
When: 9 a.m., Nov. 19
Where: Edmonds Center for the Arts and the Edmonds Theater, Edmonds
The man himself: Steves will be teaching three classes – “European travel skills,” “1,000 Years of Art and History” and “Italy.” In the travel skills class, Steves will talk about how to create an efficient itinerary, pack light, how to use Europe’s rail system and how to eat and sleep for less than $100 per day. In the arts and history class, Steves will cover everything from medieval feudalism, Renaissance art, Gothic architecture and more.
Other sessions: There also will be lectures on the latest European travel tips, insights and discoveries about Greece, France, Turkey, Ireland, Croatia-Slovenia, Germany-Austria-Switzerland and “Packing Light & Right.”
More travel help: Steves’ Europe Through the Back Door Travel Center will be open extended hours from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. The center is at 130 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds.
